Moshe Feldenkrais was not a certified Feldenkrais Practitioner.
Nor was he a certified Feldenkrais Trainer.
Do you know why I say that?
It is simple: Feldenkrais never took a Feldenkrais Training. And he never met any of the Feldenkrais Guild requirements to become a Feldenkrais Trainer!
Often people think that I am joking when I state that.
And it is funny in a way.
But it is a deep truth that can help you organize yourself to create a life of independence and freedom.
Moshe never took any formal Feldenkrais training and he did ok for himself!
The same will likely be true for you.
And there is a related idea to consider:
What Moshe was attempting to teach was not necessarily what was learned by his students. And - cover the baby’s ears - his methods of teaching and speaking sometimes had nearly the opposite effect of what he was intending.
Moshe wanted to help people become more independent and aware.
But there is little independence and awareness in the organizations that sprang up around his work after his death. In fact, those organizations - like all such professional organizations - have the goal of limiting people’s awareness and understanding.

A deeper understanding of Feldenkrais and some of his correct and mistaken ideas (and those of his students) will help you to create more independence and freedom for yourself and those important to you.
